As always, the closing concert of the Marijampolė Music Park festival is special!Percussion stars, three Baltic percussionists Pavel Giunter (Lithuania), Sigitas Gailius (Lithuania) and Guntars Freibergs (Latvia) unite their artistic and creative ideas in a unique percussion music project “Interzones”.The concert will feature music from different countries, cultures and continents, performed on rhythmic and melodic percussion instruments. Pavel Giunter is a recognized Lithuanian percussionist and prominent soloist, winner of the “Golden Disc 2014”, leader of “Giunter percussion”, and long-time concertmaster of the percussion group of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, performing classical, modern, world and jazz music.

Guntars Freibergs studied percussion at the Strasbourg Conservatory (France), the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium) and the Anton Bruckner University of Linz (Austria), where he received his master's degree. Guntars has won various prizes in many international percussion competitions, the most notable of which are the Grand Prix at the International Competition "Days of Percussion" in Ferme (Italy) and 2nd place at the Salzburg International Marimba Competition (Austria).

Sigitas Gailius studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the percussion class. From the beginning of his studies, he was actively involved in percussion music, and in 2007 he interned with Professor Linda Maxey (USA) and earned a nominal scholarship.In 2011, he became the 2nd prizewinner of the international percussion competition in Ukmergė.In the same year, he participated in the international Antonio Santangelo marimbioncompetition in Italy (Fermo) and became the laureate of the competition.
